Meet Scott Gray

New Leadership Delivering Law and Order for Our Community

The last couple of weeks have been just amazing. The people that have reached out have been asking what I stand for and about our family. Well this is Gina and she has been by my side for a long time. My best friend, confidant, and wife. We have 2 sons; one is in the Army and the other is a police officer. We have 2 daughter-n-laws and 7 grandkids. She has been by my side every step of the way in my law enforcement journey. She is the true hero.

I have been in law enforcement for over 30 years and believe in the U.S. Constitution and the delivery of quality law enforcement services to the PEOPLE, because it is about the people. I am a service-oriented law enforcement professional.

I have 2 master's degrees: one in Criminal Justice and the other in Public Safety Administration. I retired in 2017 from the Henry County Police Department as a Captain. I took a job as the Chief of Police and have been there ever since, changing the culture geared toward the people we serve. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College.

I am a member of the Georgia Chief's of Police Association (GACP) Executive Board and in July will be installed as the President of the association. I currently teach in the Professional Management Course in Command College as an adjunct professor and to new Chief's of Police at GACP.

I believe that our law enforcement professionals should work for the people and not the criminals, I am about law and order and the U.S. Constitution, and I am a conservative. I believe together we can create a professional law enforcement service for our citizens. We need policies, procedures and practices in place that best serve us and not others.

We are facing issues such as drug abuse, gang violence, and threats to the safety of law-abiding citizens. Some people may deny the existence of these problems, but we cannot. We would appreciate your suggestions on how to tackle these issues effectively. We need the support of law enforcement professionals to address these problems and ensure the safety of our community. If elected, I would prioritize gathering employee input and creating a due process clause in our SOP. This would ensure that employees do not fear retaliation or job loss for suggesting great ideas.

I appreciate everyone reaching out and I look forward to US working together to make OUR County safe.
